Artificial Sea Trees Restore Environment

Waterstudio.NL is an architecture firm that specializes in creating projects that are on or near water. One of their newest projects is a towering multilayered structure called the Sea Tree. In an effort to bring back healthy environments to large cities, these structures would be built in the rivers, lakes, or harbors that often border large metropolises and house not only sea life but also various birds, insects, and plant life.

Thousands of Plastic Figures Hold Up the Floor

One of the most exciting contemporary artists of our time, Korean Do Ho Suh, created this large sculptural installation that doesn't look like much until you come closer. Glass plates rest on thousands of multicolored miniature plastic figures who are crowded together with their heads and arms turned skyward. Together, they are holding the weight of the individual visitor who steps onto the floor.

Otherworldly Macrophotography of Paint and Ice

These abstract images involve more than your average painting tools. Photographer Cliff Briggie, who also happens to be a practicing clinical psychologist, creates these interesting “temporary ice paintings” that are comprised of ice, paint, and water and enlivened by his camera's flashes of light.
