Sweet Street Art by Kenny Random

Since we last checked in with Padova, Italy-based street artist Kenny Random, he has been adding some exciting new twists to his work. While he still incorporates his trademark silhouette into some of his pieces, many of his newer ones involve children and cartoon characters we're all familiar with, like Maggie Simpson or Snoopy. Particularly love how he cleverly incorporates the city's surroundings…

As he tells us, “I like playing with fantasy and reality, so I try and find the best location to give more power to all the cartoon characters. Cartoons are very powerful on paper, but on the street they become part of real life; the right place can give them an amazing power!

“The cartoons give me the opportunity to speak directly to people, it's like opening a secret door to the unconscious. For example, in Lana (above and immediately below), she represents the idea of pureness and innocence, things we might have lost for a long time, but things we'll never forget.

“I really hope my new works can give people an opportunity to reflect, giving them a break from their everyday life.”
