Sculptor “Unzips” a Building in Milan for Mind-Bending Art Installation

British sculptor Alex Chinneck has brought his mind-bending illusions to Italy with an incredible installation in Milan. Concurrently with Milan Design Week, Chinneck has literally unzipped the facade of a building in the city in what he calls the most ambitious work he's ever made. In addition to the incredible exterior, the building's interior is also filled with several installations that carry through the zipper theme, making for a cohesive and immersive experience.

Pre-Raphaelites: How a Secret Society of Artists Blossomed into an Art Movement

For centuries, painters have looked to Renaissance artists as masters of the craft. Vincent van Gogh called Michelangelo's figures “magnificent.” In his early work, Pablo Picasso emulated the style of Raphael. Surrealist Salvador Dalí described the Renaissance as the result of “divine genius.” With such high praise, it's hard to believe that anyone could dislike the art of the Renaissance.

Photographer Braves Disorienting White Sand Dunes to Capture Otherworldly Images

Nestled near the southern end of New Mexico is White Sands, a National Monument with a landscape that is seemingly from another planet. With blinding white dunes as far as the eye can see, the desolate view is striking and can even be disorienting. For photographer Navid Baraty, these aspects made it all the more alluring to visit. During the course of his solo 7,200-mile road trip, this site was a must-stop for him.
