Winners of the Natural Landscape Photography Awards Highlight Real Beauty in Our Environment

After a rigorous judging process, the winners of the 2025 Natural Landscape Photography Awards have been announced. Now in its fifth year, the competition was fierce; but in the end, Australian photographer Joy Kachina was named Natural Landscape Photographer of the Year for her strong portfolio of work. Based in Tasmania, Kachina is a professional landscape photographer whose work is inspired by the rich beauty of Tasmanian forests.

Stunning Self-Portraits Connect Humans to Icy Icelandic Landscapes [Interview]

For three years, Anna Isabella Christensen photographed herself among Iceland's ice caves and glaciers. The ambitious self-portrait project features her in places many of us dream of visiting—chiseled ice peaks against an equally frigid backdrop. Devoid of other people and the trappings of human existence, she stands alone, looking on toward a landscape with an otherworldly appeal. Christensen is the focal point of each image; but, at times, it’s hard to spot her.

Incredible Winners of the 2024 International Landscape Photographer of the Year

Over 3,600 entries were submitted by professional and amateur landscape photographers, and now the winners of the 11th annual International Landscape Photographer of the Year have been announced. Canadian photographer Andrew Mielzynski and Japanese photographer Ryohei Irie were singled out for having the best portfolio and individual image, respectively. Mielzynski's portfolio captures everything from snowy white winters in Ontario to the rusty sands of the Atacama desert.

Photographer Captures Stunning, Rare Double Moonbow

We've all seen rainbows, but have you ever witnessed a moonbow? Also known as a lunar rainbow, this optical phenomenon happens when moonlight is refracted through water droplets in the air. They're rarer than rainbows, which makes photographer Aaron Watson‘s image of a double moonbow even more special. Watson of Skies-Alive Photography captured the incredible image in Colorado around 2 a.m., just one day before August's Supermoon Blue Moon.
