If you love Norman Rockwell's classic American paintings, then you'll enjoy this tribute show dedicated to the iconic American artist. From now through September 25, 2011, visit the The Muckenthaler Cultural Center in Fullerton, California to see American Nostalgia: Contemporary Artists and Illustrators Reinterpret the Traditional Themes of Norman Rockwell. The exhibition includes 46 works by 28 contemporary artists and illustrators who have been asked to reinterpret Rockwell's traditional themes of patriotism, family and the American ideal.
The paintings will ask you to think about how our world has changed since Norman Rockwell first illustrated everyday life for The Saturday Evening Post starting back in 1916.
