Meet Banye, the Adorably Surprised Cat

Following in the footsteps (or paw prints) of Grumpy Cat and Angry Cat, this Surprised Cat is ready to join the ranks of internet feline royalty. Banye, an 11-year-old British Shorthair from China, has a perpetual look of surprise thanks to a patch of dark fur strategically grown beneath his mouth.

The startled kitty has started to achieve online fame after his owner, Shanghai-based winnnie, posted photos of him on the Pinterest-like site Duitang. Viewers can’t get enough of the adorable cat’s big round eyes and permanent “o” of astonishment, whether Banye is sitting in a box, climbing onto his owner’s lap, or just sitting pretty for the camera.

Dagsson takes a snippet of a song—such as its title—and builds a whole stick-figure world around it.
