Get lost in these breathtaking images of people finding peace in nature by Vancouver-based photographer Elizabeth Gadd. The 21-year-old photographs her subjects overlooking breathtaking vistas, their backs turned to the camera as they contemplate the stunning landscapes before them. Whether the figures are wading knee-deep in a tranquil lake, standing beneath a magnificent waterfall, balancing on a cliff above a gorgeous valley, or wandering across lush fields with wild horses, each scene is an awe-inspiring meditation on the beauty of solitude and nature.
Traveling everywhere from the surrounding Canadian wilderness to the spectacular country of Iceland, Gadd combines landscapes and human presence for her signature style of photography, which she humorously describes as: “I, uh…shoot landscapey stuff…with people in them.” She says, “I work to display human interaction with nature in a positive and peaceful way, and hope that it will leave my viewers feeling refreshed and inspired.”
