Beautiful Vintage Artworks Created by Blending Film + Paint

Los Angeles-based photographer Alexandra Valenti combines her two passions for photography and painting to produce some truly creative works of art. Rather than simply painting portraits or snapping shots of models, Valenti merges the two art forms to create an intriguing landscape filled with personality. She gives her captured world character with vibrant streaks of color and blotted hues of the rainbow.

The artist balances the color within each of her images by pairing the right amount of painted pigments against her typically monochromatic photograph. There's just enough painted content to keep each shot interesting without overwhelming it. It still feels like a fresh blend of film and paint. This method of art that Valenti has come to be known for also exudes a incredible sense of youthfulness. Like a teenage girl's scrapbook highlighted with markers, the photographer's series of Painted Images offers an energetic playfulness juxtaposed with subtle beauty.
