Chinese illustrator, painter, and street artist Chen Yingjie (aka: Hua Tunan) creates paintings that are alive with energy. Using a splattering technique, he creates beautiful creatures that radiate with vibrant colors. Night Owl is one of his recent pieces filled with a dynamic power that emanates from the bird's single golden eye.
Each of the artist's works is an expressive blend of realism and abstraction. Viewers are invited to investigate the intense details of a face and body, but then are invited to get lost in the chaotic shower of colors that spray out towards the edges of the paper.
Tunan's formal training in classic Chinese painting is the foundation upon which he develops his modern and lively artworks. He doesn't typically sell his work but, just recently, he made Night Owl available in the Street Art News shop as an edition of 35 prints that were numbered and signed by the artist.
