Not since Jason Lee have I found a father who could capture childhood is such a sweet and genuine way. Osaka, Japan-based photographer/web designer Hideaki Hamada shoots his curiously cute boys, Haru and Mina, as they make their way through life.
This very proud father has been shooting his sons since they were born. (The older son, Haru, is now five and the younger son, Mina, is now three.) For multiple reasons, he chose to document their lives and share these personal moments with the world. “I want to take photographs of my sons so that they will be able to feel something when they grow up,” he tells us. “These photos will be like gifts to my family in the future.
“I think that digital pictures as materials are more fragile than prints, but expressions on the monitor or online have endless possibilities. It connects people…all around the world.”
