If your sweet Maltese turns into a rabid beast when a stranger comes to your door than you might understand what Ryan Bradford must endure day in and day out.
All the Dogs Want to Kill Me is a funny photo series taken by Bradford, a postman that wanted to document his all-too-real experiences. After graduating with an English degree at the University of Utah, he couldn't find a job so he took the first paying gig he got offered. Bradford became an employee with the U.S. Postal Service.
Ironically, one of the first interview questions he was asked was whether he was afraid of dogs. Bradford grew up with dogs so of course he said no. “It seemed like a pretty silly interview question,” he told NPR.
That was all about to change. Bradford had to give proof of his scary experiences so he bought a 400 ISO, 35 mm disposable camera from Rite-Aid and took photos of all the dogs he encountered. Then, he posted these photos on his blog.
“Dogs become frightening once you put the uniform on,” said Bradford. “I can't put my finger on it. I'm convinced that the thin pinstripes of our shirts reveal a MagicEye message that only dogs can see, and that message is: BITE ME.”
