House on Stilts – Takasugi-an by Terunobu Fujimori: Japan

I wonder how many safety hazards this tree-bound tea house has. Designed by architect Terunobu Fujimori, Takasugi-an is located in Chino, Nagano Prefecture, Japan and built atop two chestnut trees, cut from a nearby mountain and transported to the site. Takasugi-an literally means “a teahouse too high.” Guests must climb a freestanding ladder, which leans against one of the trees in order to reach the little house.

The thing that stands out most to me about Ghostpatrol's street graffiti is how each of his pieces are so remarkably different and original. Incredibly innovative and driven by creative impulses, Ghostpatrol has been described as dark, moody, energetic and passionate. A self taught illustrator who currently resides in Melbourne, Australia, GP specializes in fine ink drawing, graffiti, commissioned murals and soft sculpture. Sam Taylor-Wood – Gracefully Suspended (10 photos)

Suspended series These self-portraits by Sam Taylor-Wood are truly inspiring. As she explores notions of weight and gravity, she places herself in situations where her interior and external sense of self is in conflict. Born in London in 1967, Taylor-Wood studied at Goldsmiths College and went on to become a prolific film-maker and photographer.
