Jessica Stewart is a Staff Editor and Digital Media Specialist for My Modern Met, as well as a curator and art historian. Since 2020, she is also one of the co-hosts of the My Modern Met Top Artist Podcast. She earned her MA in Renaissance Studies from University College London and now lives in Rome, Italy. She cultivated expertise in street art which led to the purchase of her photographic archive by the Treccani Italian Encyclopedia in 2014. When she’s not spending time with her three dogs, she also manages the studio of a successful street artist. In 2013, she authored the book "Street Art Stories Roma" and most recently contributed to "Crossroads: A Glimpse Into the Life of Alice Pasquini." A master of transforming architecture into sculpture, Microscape, is back with another highly detailed site model of a beloved American city. After the enormous success of their New York City scale model, they are back with another 1:5000 scale replica of Chicago. Microscape's 3D printed cities are fully customizable, coming in square sections that allow you to select the areas of the city you love the most or fit together several areas like pieces of a puzzle.

Artist Recreates Gritty Details of Abandoned Buildings as a Rundown Dollhouse

Street artist Alice Pasquini transports us into a transitional world with her new installation The Unchanging World. An almost 4-foot-tall dollhouse is the stage for her work, which has been brought down to a miniature scale in order to visually represent our transition from childhood to adulthood. At first glance, the 1:10 scale model appears abandoned by time. Yet, a closer look reveals the careful intention with which Pasquini has dressed the dollhouse.

Incredibly Detailed Miniature Sculpture of San Francisco’s Historic Record Store

For an upcoming exhibition at Palo Alto Art Center, self-taught miniaturist Joshua Smith has once again created a scale model that is a slice of urban life. Following his recent venture into the architecture of Taiwan, Smith has jumped across the ocean, this time tackling elements of San Francisco. The centerpiece of the show is the legendary Discolandia Record Store in San Francisco's Mission District.
