Living with Giraffes at Nairobi’s Giraffe Manor

This luxury boutique hotel is not what you would expect from your standard vacation lodging! Located in Kenya, just about 12 miles outside of Nairobi, Giraffe Manor is 12 acres of private land and 140 acres of indigenous forest that is home to a herd of Rothschild Giraffe. The website explains that the Giraffe Center, located on the Giraffe Manor grounds “was set up by AFEW (African Fund for Endangered Wildlife)

LEGO Sculptures of Popular British Birds

Thomas Poulsom is a Bristol-based avid LEGO builder with an affinity for birds. His penchant for the soaring, feathered creatures has merged with his enthusiasm for the toy building blocks to produce a series of 6 popular birds found in Britain constructed entirely out of LEGO pieces. The detailed “birds” were made with close attention to shape, color, and size.

Interview: Magical Insect Photographer

When we first came across Nadav Bagim's macro insect photography, we were taken aback by just how magical he could make their miniature world look. His photos seemed like they came out of a storybook or a Disney/Pixar movie. Filled with beautiful colors and a generous helping of bokeh, they seemed almost out of this world. After we found out that he only uses Photoshop for slight tweaks, we were even more impressed.

Whimsical Childhood Daydreams

To create such whimsical illustrations, one must have a rich and active imagination. London-based artist and designer Kareena Zerefos is a self-professed daydreamer with an unhealthy obsession with 2B pencils and the lust to escape into a world of make believe. Zerefos has created a set of beautifully fanciful pieces. Within each portrait lies a hint of the famous children’s book Where the Wild Things Are.
