Baluchon—a studio based out of Brittany, France—builds these types of awe-inspiring tiny homes, and their latest creation features two bedrooms within a mere 140 square feet.

Iconic Modernist Buildings Reimagined Inside Idyllic Thomas Kinkade Paintings

Featuring angular lines, asymmetrical compositions, and sparse color, the Modernist architecture aesthetic is the complete opposite to the pretty pastoral worlds of a Thomas Kinkade painting. However, when architect and Twitter user @robyniko merged the two in Photoshop, it strangely worked! The artist’s “Modernism mashups” see iconic buildings—including the Eames House, Philip Johnson’s Glass House, and Mies van der Rohe’s Farnsworth House—seamlessly placed in the middle of Kinkade’s idyllic scenes.

This Exquisite “Underground Cathedral” Has Been Carved Entirely Out of Salt

When you imagine places of worship, traditional structures like Gothic churches, colorful mosques, and dazzling Buddhist temples likely come to mind. If you've ever visited Wieliczka, Poland, however, you know that not all holy buildings follow this formula. In fact, some—like the the “underground cathedral” in the Wieliczka Salt Mine—aren't buildings at all! Nestled over 1,000 feet below the Polish town, this subterranean shrine dates back to the Middle Ages.
