Artist Creates Stunning Mosaic Portraits Inspired by Colorful Patterns From African Culture

Greek visual designer Charis Tsevis is well known for his intricate digital mosaics. Usually in the form of portraits, his mosaic artworks feature a wide range of subjects spanning from popular TV characters and musicians to U.S. presidents and international athletes. Artist Transforms Ordinary Rocks Into Lifelike Animals You Can Hold in Your Hand

You may have heard of the Pet Rock, but the novelty gift from the 1970s has nothing on these hand-painted stones. Japanese artist Akie Nakata transforms found rocks into handheld animal sculptures that look as though they could come to life at any second. Collecting rocks was a favorite childhood pastime for Akie, but it wasn’t until 2011 that she started painting on them.

Incredible Installation Shows Intertwined Figures Trying to Hold Up a Bridge

Philadelphia is known for its public art, and now another incredible piece has graced the city. ContraFuerte is a new sculpture that was installed in Center City by local artist Miguel Antonio Horn. Created for the city's acclaimed Percent for Art Program, it shows a tangled mass of humans clinging to and holding up a small bridge that connects two buildings. The eight figures are incredibly dynamic and the sculpture soon went viral.
