Artist Creates Pencil Drawings That Look Like They’re Lit With Fluorescent Lights

Artist Enrique Bernal (AKA Kike) has found a way to make his pencil sketches glow with life. His realistic drawings—which range from portraits to animals—are made using mechanical pencils and pens. Recently, however, Bernal has added extra effects to his illustrations with stunning results. After completing the pencil sketch, Bernal uses the artist app Medibang Paint to add artificial lighting to his drawings. This digital “glow” imitates an unknown fluorescent light source.

Tiny People Swim, Surf, and Ski Within Each Brushstroke of This Artist’s Paintings

Sometimes the grandeur of nature can make us feel really small. That exact feeling seems to resonate in the colorfully whimsical, mixed-media paintings of Iranian artist Golsa Golchini. Each of her canvases feature an impasto landscape of water or snow, with tiny figures often swimming, surfing, or skiing through it. Unlike the textured backgrounds, the miniature humans are painted digitally and added to the canvas by ink transfers, resulting in a vivid, three-dimensional environment.

Artist Creates Amazing Sculptures With Hand-Made Textures Imitating Aquatic Life

Artist Lisa Stevens creates stunning ceramic sculptures that imitate organic motifs found in nature. Her small, decorative pieces are composed of dozens of notches and ridges made without the use of any stamps. Instead, Stevens uses a variety of small tools to achieve the crisp structure of her creations. Based in Bristol, Stevens worked as a sculptor for Aardman Animations before beginning her ceramic art practice.
