Each large-scale wall collage features dozens, if not hundreds, of postcards that echo the bust of three major visual fixtures from international currency–George Washington (USA), Queen Elizabeth (UK), and Mao Zedong (China).

Playful Three-Dimensional Wire Sculptures

It might seem hard to believe at first but these works by German artist Martin Senn are not contour line drawings. They are, in fact, wire sculptures. Senn's three-dimensional figures against a white backdrop certainly resemble ink or marker illustrations that have quickly been scribbled onto one's own sketchpad but there's nothing quick or simple about them.

Suspended Red Thread Coils Reflect the Idea of Soulmates

What appears to be a beautiful wafting sea of red discs is artist Beili Liu's visual interpretation of an ancient Chinese legend involving red thread. The belief behind the mythical tale of the “red string of fate” is similar to the western idea of soulmates. It suggests that, upon birth, every person is tied to another with an invisible red thread, signifying the individual they are destined to be with.

Illustrator Justin Turrentine explores alternative resolutions to some of Disney's most popular feature-length animations. In these tales, that the artist visually re-imagines, we're exposed to a different kind of “happy ending” where the characters we're most used to referring to as the “bad guy” winds up victorious.
