Enchanting Paintings Decorated With Resplendent Gold Details

There is something intrinsically magical about a painting filled with gold details. Scotland-based artist Stephanie Rew uses this approach in her creative practice, combining resplendent metallic with graceful female figures dressed in elaborate costumes. The combination of gold and ornate patterns elevates each canvas into a celebration of clothing, light, and drama. While each of Rew's paintings features at least one female figure, their identity is not the focus.

Artist Adds Hyperrealistic Paintings on Spherical Canvases

Unlike sculpture, traditional paintings usually capture one view of a subject. Tokyo-based artist Daisuke Samejima, however, applies his talent for hyperrealism to an unconventional canvas. In his Flatball series, he captures peaceful Japanese suburbia on three-dimensional globes. As a result, viewers can literally hold the immersive scene in their hands. Due to the spherical shape of these depictions, they capture a 36o° view of each place.

Hyperrealistic Paintings of Crumpled Ornate Rugs With Secrets Hidden Beneath

At first glance, it's hard to separate Antonio Santin‘s art from reality. The New York-based Spanish painter magically renders three-dimensional depictions of ornate carpets that have been creased, crumpled, and otherwise bunched up into thick folds. Although they are made with just oil paint and a brush, their carefully modeled appearance makes it seem like they are more than just a flat surface, as hyperrealistic imitations of actual objects appear to be hidden underneath them.
