Meet William Morris: The Most Celebrated Designer of the Arts & Crafts Movement

The Future of Morris & Co. The Morris & Co. design archives were later purchased by home furnishings manufacturer, Arthur Sanderson & Sons. Both company’s archives sit under the Style Library umbrella, part of the British furnishings company, Walker Greenbank. Today, Morris & Co.’s traditional block-printed wallpaper is still available on request and costs upwards of $327 a roll. In contrast, the now machine-produced archive collections come in at a much lower price of around $50.

Ceramicist Uses Masking Tape to Create Exciting Geometric Vase Designs

Perhaps one of the most enjoyable things about working with clay is the broad range of techniques that can be used to create new and exciting decorative designs. One artist who might agree is Brooklyn-based ceramicist Jon Van Patten (aka JVP Wares) who hand-crafts one-of-a-kind ceramic vases that feature minimalist, geometric patterns, created using blue masking tape.

Photographer Documents Dazzling Designs of Cuba’s Mosaic and Tile Floors

For years, travel-loving photographer Sebastian Erras has creatively captured the artistic flair of cities around the world. While his portfolio includes everything from symmetrical shots of Lisbon's decorated storefronts to polychromatic pictures of a pop-up basketball court in Paris, he is most well-known for Parisian Floors, an ongoing series inspired by his love of mosaic art. Though usually set in European locations like Barcelona, Venice, and London, Erras' most recent incarnation of this project has brought him to colorful and culturally-rich Cuba.
