Skyscraper Concept "Times Squared 3015" Stacks Mountains and Malls in One Building

We know what New York City's Times Square looks like now, but what about in the year 3015? In a concept proposed by Blake Freitas, Grace Chen and Alexi Kararavokiris, it could have a magnificent skyscraper that contains a mountain range, beach, shopping centers, Giants' Stadium, and much more. The trio calls it Times Squared 3015, and it's over a mile tall at 5,687 feet high.

Aerial Walkway in Cape Town Allows Visitors to Take a Surreal Stroll Above the Trees

This surreal walkway recently installed in Cape Town, South Africa, creates a meandering, aerial path that allows visitors to stroll through the treetops. The steel-and-pinewood Kirstenbosch Centenary Tree Canopy Walkway begins on the forest floor, gradually sloping upward and eventually elevating guests to a spectacular vantage point above the canopy. From the heights, guests can witness the South African forest in all its glory – and in all kinds of weather.

Weapon of Mass Instruction: Artist Unveils Tank-Shaped Bookmobile to Promote Reading

Buenos Aires artist Raul Lemesoff recently re-configured an old Ford Falcon to look like a military tank. But instead of carting around ballistics, the tank has built-in shelves that can carry about 900 books. He's dubbed his creative mobile library as the “weapon of mass instruction.” After working for several years on the project, Lemesoff is now driving his completed bookmobile on a peaceful mission across Argentina, distributing books throughout urban centers and rural communities.

Beautiful Naturalistic Turntables Made from Black Walnut Trees

These beautiful turntables are made from cross-sections of trees, turning state-of-the-art hardware and black walnut wood into rustic record players. The creative, minimalistic designs are produced by Kent Walter and his father through their Seattle-based company, Silvan Audio Workshop. The pair recently started selling the products and raising money for workshop upgrades through a Kickstarter fundraising campaign. They're sending turntables to supporters who offer $750 pledges.
