Japanese Food Stylist Creates Adorable Toast Art from Colorful Ingredients

Everyone knows that breakfast is the most important meal of the day—no one more so than Japanese food artist Eiko Mori, who uses toast as her canvas. Mori began making toast art just earlier this year, and has since fallen in love with the process. Using a toothpick, a spoon, and a miniature piping bag made from parchment paper as her tools, she creates charming patterned motifs on shoku-pan, a Japanese-style milk bread.

Bakery Creates “Galaxy Eclairs” Covered in a Sweet Swirling Glaze

Thanks to a recent cosmic culinary trend, more and more foods are getting the galactic treatment. From out-of-this-world wedding cakes to constellation cookies, these desserts are popping up in pastry shops all over the planet. Like most bakeries experimenting with this fad, Musse Confectionery in the Ukraine has its own space-inspired specialty: extraterrestrial éclairs. Capturing “the beauty of the cosmos,” each éclair features icing inspired by an interstellar aesthetic. Various shades of blue, purple, and pink swirl together to form galaxies speckled with stars.

New Needle-Felted Food and Nature Pairs Are Here to Brighten Your Day

Ukraine-based designer and artist Hanna Dovhan is known for skillfully handcrafting adorable pairs of felted food. While her past creations were limited to edible creatures like smiling eggs and cheerful cherries, she has since expanded her collection of woolen works to include nature-inspired subjects, including pairs of plants and amorous animals. Dovhan designs and fabricates the fuzzy figures using a technique known as needle felting. With this method, she is able to create a wide range of colorful sculptural subjects.

Artist mom Alya Chaglar and her 3-year-old daughter Stefani create fabulous optical illusion photos using nothing but fruits, vegetables, and flowers. The charming pictures feature Stefani as she seemingly sports the latest in unconventional dresses—like “wearing” a piece of watermelon! The results are as ingenious as they are cute. To produce these visual tricks, Chaglar holds one of the objects up to Stefani as she strikes a pose in the distance.
