Raw Tree Stump Seamlessly Extends into a Polished Wooden Table

French designer Thomas de Lussac highlights the beauty of a simple tree stump with his stunning furniture project. Called the Racine Carr table (translated, this means Square Root), it incorporates powerful, raw roots into its sleek form. The flattened table top leans against the halved stump as the other end is propped up by a considerably smaller, polished leg. Similar to Fernando Mastrangelo's Drift Bench, Lussac's work blurs the line between furniture and sculpture.

Found Fallen Tree Branch is Repurposed into Beautifully Unconventional Shelving

Sebastian Errazuriz's one-of-a-kind shelving unit called Bilbao proves that inspiration can come from simply stepping outside your front door. Created using a found tree branch, the artist retrieved the fallen limb from a Santiago street and took it back to his workshop. There, he twisted, turned, and readapted it, allowing the giant branch to hug a flat wall and live its new life as an unconventional shelf.

South Korean industrial designer Sohyun Yun has created a chair that can change as often as your mood. Called Layer, this innovative seat is made out of clear acrylic and has an entirely see-through structure. Thanks to its clever construction, the “blank canvas” is completely customizable, with empty space in its back and base. Here, you can insert three layers of printed or colored acrylic, in addition to other materials like wood or glass.

Quirky DIY Transforms Obsolete TV into Colorful Liquor Cabinet

With today's sleek flat-screen TV technology, a CRT (tube) set is becoming increasingly rare inside modern homes. These vintage devices are often overlooked and discarded, being seen as obsolete. However, Norwegian DIY enthusiast Kjell Are had an inventive, alternative use for one of these television sets. Rather than simply discarding the antiquated object, Are transformed it into a quirky liquor cabinet. He even documented the entire process in an Imgur album.
