Pyramids Are a Dramatic Backdrop for a Mirrored Orb Inspired by Ancient Egypt

The Giza pyramids are the dramatic backdrop for a new installation by anonymous Spanish artist SpY. Inspired by Egyptian symbolism and mathematics, the piece is part of the exhibition Forever is Now II. Organized by Culturvator/Art Dโ€™ร‰gypte, the exhibition asks artists around the world to take inspiration from Egypt's rich cultural history. In SpY's case, he looked at the logical and spiritual world of Ancient Egypt to put together his piece, ORB.

Olafur Eliassonโ€™s Massive Qatar Installation Invites People to Ponder Their Place in Nature

Qatar continues to transform its spaces into a public museum with a massive new installation by artist Olafur Eliasson. Situated in the desert outside of Al Zubarah and Ain Mohammed heritage sites in Doha, Shadows travelling on the sea of the day was commissioned 10 years ago and took four years to produce. It features 20 mirrored circle shelters that both provide respite from the Sun and also ask visitors to ponder their place in nature.

Artist Transforms 3D Into 2D in a Mind-Bending Installation About Finding Home

Artist Anastasia Parmson has turned 3D into 2D by way of installation art. Her immersive homey interior consists of white-washed walls, flooring, and furniture outlined in thick black lines. Everythingโ€”from the wood grain on the vinyl floor to the leaves in a vaseโ€”is outlined in paint. This flattens the entire space, and the elements within it look like a pen drawing.

Family of Four Has a Rocking Good Time Arranging Charming Art on the Beach

For one family, the beach is a rocking good time. They call themselves Beach4Art and their ongoing project features the talents of Ieva Slares, her husband Dzintars, and their two children. Together, they create ephemeral land art along the shores of the North Devon coast in England. The group gathers colorful rocks, shells, sea glass, and more to produce portraits of varying subjects, including birds, mammals, and florals.
