Powerful Portraits and Stories of People Affected by the Pulse Nightclub Shooting

Lives were forever changed on June 12, 2016 when 49 people were killed and 56 were injured in a shooting at Pulse Nightclub in Orlando, Florida. Not just a safe haven for the LGBT community, Pulse was a gathering point for all walks of life, and one year after this horrific incident, Dear World spent time interviewing and photographing survivors, first responders, and the loved ones of those involved.

As evident in his symmetrical shots of Berlin's beautiful architecture, Paris-based photographer Thibaud Poirer knows how to expertly capture interiors. In his latest series, Libraries, Poirer offers a gorgeous glimpse inside some of the world's most unique reading rooms. Like his past work, Libraries presents the symmetrical beauty and diverse decorative styles of various institutions' interiors. Some, like Biblioteca Joanina in Coimbra, Portugal and Bibliothèque de la Sorbonne in Paris, France feature ornate architecture inspired by a classical aesthetic.

Interview: Masterful Photoshop Artist Combines Images to Create Magical Scenes

Digital artist Viktoria Solidarnyh continues to impress with her ability to merge random photos into fantasy composite imagery. Using Photoshop, Lightroom, and a graphics tablet, the Ukrainian artist specializes in digital art filled with Disney imagery and whimsical fairy tale touches. Taking an average of 3 to 5 days to complete, the trained designer—she also studied photography—only began working with digital composites in January 2016.
