Movie Projector Reveals the Beautiful Trail of Snowfall

New York-based motion graphics expert and photographer Brian Maffitt decided to take advantage of potentially being snowed in last week, due to Winter Storm Nemo, by photographing the snowfall in a unique way. Simply put, Maffitt says, “We had a blizzard in NY, so I pointed a video projector into the falling snow and took some pictures.” His creative setup resulted in some unbelievably magical effects.

5-Year-Old Daughter Stars in Old Masters’ Paintings

Australia-based photographer Bill Gekas has a real knack for portraiture, particularly the kind that results in an homage to many Old Masters of classic paintings, including artists like Vemeer and Rembrandt. Using his five-year-old daughter as the model, Gekas recreates many mid-18th century settings that are inspired by portraits of adults from famous paintings.

Out of Place Photo Manipulations with a Hilarious Dark Twist

At first glace, these scenes might not seem out of the ordinary. In fact, they initially come across as quite mundane suburban landscapes. It takes a moment to identify exactly what is out of place, but, once you do, these hilarious photo manipulations, by photographer Robert Rickhoff, will certainly make you chuckle. Based in Germany, the artist has transformed otherwise boring photos into a completely nonsensical and outrageous series entitled Out of Place.

Amusing Shadows Created by Unsuspecting MOMA Visitors

Artist Philip Worthington's Shadow Monsters is an interactive project in which visitors were invited to create all kinds of wacky shadow puppets with their bodies in front of an illuminated screen. Through the use of unique code, digital computer augmentation, and light projection, Worthington's installation transformed the simple shadows into lively, projected monsters with fangs, fins, fuzzy ears, googly eyes, and matching sound effects.
