16-Year-Old’s Wildly Fruity Self-Portraits

With just two and a half years of experience, 16-year-old Spanish photographer Cristina Otero captivates us with these zoomed-in self-portraits. Using fruit as her inspiration in this series entitled Tutti Frutti, Otero disrupts the conventional notions of feminine beauty and interacts with different fruits in a seductive performance for the camera. She draws the viewer in with her wide, innocent eyes while the bold, striking colors of her make-up complement each fruit.

Surreal Depiction of Human Environmental Impact

Artistic married duo Robert and Shana ParkeHarrison first brought us the surreal universe of the dapper Everyday man in their series entitled The Architect's Brother. Since the release of that photography project, the couple have unveiled two new series entitled Counterpoint and Gray Dawn. While the older works display the unusual plight of the Everyday man in his natural surroundings, the newer images seem to depict the unfortunate outcomes of a mistreated land.

Demise of Fairy Tale Princesses

Photographer Thomas Czarnecki's series about fallen princesses (titled From Enchantment to Down) offers intriguing new possibilities for how classic fairy tales might end. The storybooks all have happy endings, but not so much for these ladies. Czarnecki uses recognizable princesses to create dark and complex narratives within a single frame.
