Mysterious 70-Year-Old Photographs Have Sparked a Worldwide Search

The discovery of never-seen-before photographs from 70 years ago has sparked a worldwide search for the identities of the couple seen in the pictures. Irish camera collector William Fagan came across this lost film cassette a few years ago when he purchased a vintage Leica Illa, but did not develop the pictures until this summer.

Take a Look at the Most Detailed Map of Mars Photographed From Earth

Using photos taken at the Pic du Midi Observatory, astrophotographer Jean-Luc Dauvergne has published what he calls the most detailed map of Mars from the ground. The photographs were taken at the mountaintop observatory, which is located in the French Pyrenees, over the course of six nights in October and November using a 1-meter telescope. The team then sewed together hundreds of photos to put together this incredible map.

Powerful Portraits of Native Americans Highlight Their Spirit and Cultural Identity [Interview]

Photographer Craig Varjabedian is known for his stunning portrait series celebrating the lives and cultures of Native Americans. The Native Light Photo Collaboration project sees Varjabedian working with Indigenous people around New Mexico to create photographs that highlight their spirit. By working together, photographer and model have equal control and, therefore, the images avoid the exploitation that can sometimes occur in this genre of photography.
