20 Incredible Winning Images From the 2020 International Landscape Photographer of the Year Contest

For the seventh year, the International Landscape Photographer of the Year competition highlights the beauty of our environment. Over 3,800 breathtaking images flooded in from photographers around the world, giving the judges a tough decision. In the end, it was 24-year-old photographer Kelvin Yuen from Hong Kong who was named International Landscape Photographer of the Year for his strong portfolio. Yuen took up photography just six years ago, which makes his win even more impressive.

Photo Restorer Colorizes Every Portrait of a U.S. President Who Was Photographed [Interview]

Photography changed the way people see the world, as well as the way history is remembered. In 1839, the first commercially available photographic process—the daguerreotype—was released. The sixth president of the United States, John Quincy Adams, was the first to be photographed using this process. Taken around 1843—after Adams had left office—the portrait is one of 26 black and white photographs depicting presidents who held office before color photography existed.
