Two Astrophotographers Team Up To Create Detailed Color Photo of the Moon

Astrophotographers Andrew McCarthy and Connor Matherne recently teamed up to create a dazzling photo of the Moon from 250,000 individual images. Combining their skills, the 174 MB photo is a detailed look at the texture and color of Earth's only natural satellite. The talented photographers connected on Reddit several years ago and bonded over their shared love for astrophotography.

James Webb Space Telescope Captures Spectacular Auroras on Jupiter

The James Webb Space Telescope gave us a glimpse of Jupiter in a photo taken during its commissioning phase. But that image pales in comparison to the fully-processed JWST Jupiter photos that have just been released. Taken by its Near-Infrared Camera (NIRCam), the two photographs show the solar system's largest planet in incredible detail. Auroras, hazes, moons, and rings are just some of the detail that is clearly visible in the two photographs.

Spectacular ‘Cartwheel Galaxy’ Captured by James Webb Space Telescope

NASA's James Webb Space Telescope continues to make scientific strides by the light-year. From its lofty perch in space, it has now turned its superb lenses towards the Cartwheel Galaxy, a strange and beautiful element of our universe. The pictures released by NASA show the strangely-shaped rings of stars and supernovas which were previously largely obscured by floating clouds of dust. The unique camera technology about the telescope has allowed this great stride forward.
