Well-known graffiti artist David Choe traveled to Switzerland recently to be part of a project known as myFINBEC, in association with Cave Fin Bec winery. The project called on 8 graffiti artists to paint on their own wall, which was actually a stack of 84 wine crates. Upon completion, the stacks of boxes would then be disassembled, each one fit to hold 6 bottles of wine, and sold to consumers from around the world.
Choe was given several walls of crates to work with, allowing him to create multiple paintings across hundreds of boxes. Essentially, people who purchase a case full of wine bottles through this project would own a piece of art, the crate being a unique piece of a mural. Additionally, the wine bottles include a label to match the artwork that their crate derives from.
The specially designed crates packed with 6 wine bottles are currently available to purchase through myFINBEC's shop.
