Inside Lonely Planet’s New Book : 1000 Ultimate Experiences (6 pages)

My husband, Sam, LOVES to travel. In fact, for one of his Christmas presents, I bought him a map of the world and push pins so we could track all of the places we've been to together and separately. (Needless to say, his pins far outnumber mine.) Our pins are stuck in Costa Rica, France, Greece, Italy, Singapore, Japan, New Zealand..the list goes on and on. Anytime we plan a trip, the first thing Sam likes to do is go to Barnes and Noble and buy the Lonely Planet books. As one of the foremost authorities in travel, Lonely Planet always gives us awesome inside tips we can't get anywhere else. So you know I was excited when I saw this new book release: Lonely Planet's 1000 Ultimate Experiences. “1000 Ultimate Experiences brings together 1000 ideas, places and activities to inspire and entertain for travellers and lovers of life-lists alike. Get inspired and start ticking off those boxes of places you've always wanted to see and things you've always wanted to do. Who knows where you'll end up!” As Lonely Planet Founder Tony Wheeler writes in the book's introduction: “I've always had travel lists going: things I really must get around to doing, experiences I just might get around to and places that I simply cannot understand why I haven't yet put a tick beside. 1000 Ultimate Experiences simply takes the sort of lists that I draw up and extends them in every direction.” Here's an inside look:

The book was just released but, due to unprecedented demand, is temporarily out of stock in the Australia, Asia and Pacific regions. It is available through Amazon in the US.
