Breathtaking Landscapes Capture the Diverse Beauty of Oregon

It can be easy to forget how beautiful a place is when you see it everyday, but photographer Jeff Bryant regularly pays homage to the splendor that surrounds him. Using the moniker Exquisite Oregon, he travels throughout the state to capture photos of its breathtaking locales: picturesque waterfalls, gorgeous sunsets, and colorful foliage are just a few of the landscapes he's shot.

The state's diverse scenery is inspiring to Bryant. “Oregon has so much to offer,” he tells us in an email, “from the coastal waters to the high desert, valleys to mountain ranges.” When looking at his collection of photographs, the vastly different terrain seem as though they could exist on opposite ends of the world. Every image, however, evokes a feeling of magnificent grandeur that celebrates wide, open spaces.

To achieve such visual brilliance, Bryant works meticulously on the editing of photos. He shoots with a Nikon D750 and uses Adobe Lightroom to refine. “I feel editing is just as important as taking the shot,” he writes. “I compose and edit my images to make the viewer feel like they are there in that moment of time.”

Bryant captures a lot of stunning shots, but one location is the most memorable: Coffin Mountain. “A fellow photographer took me up in the height of wildflower season,” he explains. “This was my first experience shooting wildflowers and the view….AMAZING!!!” Of course, there are the strenuous photos, too. “I would say that my most difficult shots are those waterfalls that are more challenging to get to. When I get a ‘thank-you' from the viewer that physically can't get to that fall, it makes it all worth it!”
