In late 2013, master doodler Kerby Rosanes released an awesome coloring book, not just kids, but for people of all ages. (We're looking at you, adults.) Called Doodle Invasion, the book is filled with 50 unique and extremely detailed works of art that are all in Kerby's signature style. If you'll recall, the Philippines-based illustrator has been profiled twice on My Modern Met (see here and here) for his magnificent Moleskine doodles that all explode with energy.
When the coloring book was first released, the internet fell in love with it as it was shared on various blogs. The project was also featured on Behance. “After months of its release, my followers kept sending me messages about how they enjoyed the book,” he told My Modern Met. “Some said that it is a coloring book on ‘steroids' while some adults said that they helped their kids complete every single page by making it a cool bonding moment for the entire family. While some are fearlessly taking the challenge to color it, others just stare at it and appreciate it for the art. They don't want to spoil it.”
The book was such a success that it is now available in various different languages – Polish, German, French, Spanish and Italian editions are now being sold on Amazon.com. Kerby and his publisher Zifflin are in talks for a Volume 2. Other publishers have also contacted Kerby and he now has four upcoming books to be released starting third quarter of this year.
While you can see a few images of the coloring book, untouched, we thought it would be fun to show you how some of Kerby's Instagram fans have colored in its pages. Ready to bust out your colored pencils?
