Museum Built Around Space Shuttle Enterprise

The long retired space shuttle Enterprise may soon be getting a new home. One of four shuttles donated by NASA to museums around the country, the Enterprise could possibly be housed in a new museum across from the now Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum Complex in New York, New York.

The concept Space Shuttle Enterprise museum would be a combination of education and a public programming center. One of the most interesting parts is that it will literally be built around the Enterprise. It would be a large steel and glass spiral with plenty of open spaces to allow in light and ventilation. With the estimation that it will create 1,000 new jobs and bring in 300,000 visitors, the museum would be a huge boost to the area while being a great educational asset to the local schools.
