Rubik’s Cube Cakes Put a Playful Spin on Traditional French Pastries

The culinary creations of French pastry chef Cédric Grolet are as eye-catching as they are tasty. While he is renowned for his cakes and pastries that are predominantly inspired by flowers and fruit, he has recently adopted peculiar and playful new muse: the Rubik's cube. A sophisticated twist on the handheld puzzle, Grolet's cake is actually cube-shaped assortment of 27 individual pastries.

Soldier’s B&W Photos Capture Rare Glimpse of Seoul Rebuilding After Korean War

Born in an area that is now part of North Korea, photographer Han Youngsoo's work gives us rare insight into how the country rebuilt itself after the Korean War. Fighting on the front lines as a young South Korean soldier, Youngsoo returned to an unrecognizable Seoul after the war ended. Post-war Seoul, left devastated and impoverished, is the backdrop for Youngsoo's photography.
