Artist Adds Humorous Star Wars Twist To Classic Paintings

Artist David Hamilton recreates iconic paintings in the style of famous artists – but with an added Star Wars twist. Hamilton started the series when he remade Ilya Repin's Tolstoy Plowing by inserting an armed storm trooper into the foreground. By strategically placing quirky elements in the paintings, he adds new meaning to the classic works. The placement of the elements create amusing interactions within the canvas.

While working with a client in Yorkshire Dales, Northern England, the company was tasked with replacing an ill-fitting staircase. Their new design needed to reflect a modern sensibility and allow more light into the ground level, as it has only a single window. Bisca's solution is a stunning set of spiral stairs.

Artist Creates Delicate Sculptures Made from Pressed Flowers

Spanish artist Ignacio Canales Aracil uses the art of pressing flowers to craft spectacular sculptures that resemble hollow vessels. Starting with a large, cone-shaped mold, Aracil weaves hand-picked blooms into a flat, floral overlay that can take up to a month to dry. The pieces are sprayed with a light coating of varnish to protect them from moisture.
