Colorful Paper Art Arrangements Convey Ten Principles of Design

Every good graphic designer knows that there are certain fundamental rules to follow when creating something new. Turkish graphic designer Efil Trk decided to visually communicate these ideas through her series, entitled The Principles of Design. For each poster, Trk arranged a clean, geometric paper art composition on a simple gray background. Her series draws upon creatively arranged shapes, forms, and textures to describe how artists should plan to incorporate certain elements within their artwork.

Amusing Mashup Pairs a Classic Painting with Animated GIFs

Nearly 53 years ago, the famed illustrator Norman Rockwell painted The Connoisseur for The Saturday Evening Post magazine. It shows a man standing in front of a Jackson Pollock-esque style painting at a museum or gallery. Today, that same character, in his matching suit, is back to see a more modern form of art known as the animated GIF. He can be found on the Tumblr aptly titled The Gif Connoisseur.

Playful Net Installation Provides Unusual Climbing Experience

This playful net installation is an interactive sculpture created by Croatian-Austrian design collective Numen/For Use, which consists of Sven Jonke, Christoph Katzler and Nikola Radeljkovic. It is a site-specific project developed particularly for a corridor in the OK Center for Contemporary Art in Linz. Vertically arranged netting hangs down from the ceiling and is stretched in and out of the space to create interesting pathways for visitors to navigate.
