Surreal Half-Animal, Half-Human Portraits

Therianthropes is a series by photographer and graphic designer Ulric Collette that presents portraits of people that are half-man, half-animal. Best known for his Genetic Portraits series, which features split portraits of two different family members, the Quebec-based photographer combines two entirely different beings in this collection that goes beyond familial bonds and genetic relations. In fact, the merged subjects span the animal kingdom.

Glock 19 Bodyhammer is a powerful series by artist Robert Longo that gives the first-person viewpoint of someone with a gun pointed right at them. At first, viewers of the images may interpret the symmetrical, geometric portraits as abstract works of art. However, upon realizing that one is looking down the barrel of a gun, they are met with a sinking feeling.

Death-Defying Pathways Along China’s Yellow Mountain

Would you be brave enough to trek a pathway called The Bridge of Immortals? Situated in Huangshan (aka Yellow Mountain), a mountain range in the southern Anhui province of eastern China, the bridge, above, is located at a vertigo-inducing height between two giant, jagged granite peaks that dares adventures to cross its path.
