Singapore’s Communal Learning Towers Inspired by Beehives

While technology within education has delivered many benefits, some feel it has led to a decrease in socialization among both students and faculty members. With this in mind, architect Thomas Heatherwick has designed the new Learning Hub for Singapore's Nanyang Technological University (NTUC). The building will be the first of fourteen new updates to the campus as part of a twenty year project.

Though it may be hard to tell right now while we still have polar ice caps, National Geographic recently created a series of maps that illustrate how visually different the Earth would look if all the ice on the planet melted. The maps reveal a world with far fewer land masses that are above sea level.

Historical Figures Playfully Portrayed as Cats and Dogs

Cat Queen Animals From History is a playful series that ties together history lessons with incredibly detailed animal illustrations. Created by Christina Hess, each full color print features a famous character portrayed by a well-dressed cat or a dog. Hess pairs her illustrations with the elaborate life stories of cleverly named characters like Elvis Petme, Cleocatra, and Joan of Bark.
