Dashing Portraits of Cats Dressed in Royal Attire

Tashkent-based Uzbek artist Eldar Zakirov digitally painted portraits of cats for Hermitage Magazine as though they are refined gentlemen in royal attire. Styling his whimsical renditions like classic oil paintings, there is an unbelievably realistic quality to them that makes the viewer question whether they're actually looking at accurate depictions of cats dressed in formal uniforms.

Hyper-Realistic Pencil Drawings of Everyday Reflections

With these fantastic hyper-realistic pencil drawings, Estonia-based artist Heikki Leis makes us see the common ritual we all experience every morning in a whole new light. Called Everyday Reflections, the series consists of 60×60 cm portraits of local Estonians doing everything from washing their face and brushing their teeth to applying a little color to their face.

Huge Storm Waves Amost Swallow People in Portugal

This past January, a massive storm hit across Portugal that produced strong winds of up to 80 miles per hour and heavy rain. The disaster, described as the biggest natural catastrophe in Portugal in recent years, was caused by a freak cyclone weather phenomenon called an explosive cyclogenesis. One of the areas where you could see nature in all its fury was in Porto, on the jetty that houses the Felgueiras Lighthouse.
