Charles Jencks’ Mind-Bending Landscape Architecture

A concrete staircase that looks like a waterfall and represents the universe, why not? Charles Jencks is the American landscape architect and designer behind this incredible flight of stairs. Called The Universe Cascade, it has 25 landings that mark the important shifts in cosmic history. Starting at the top, in the present day, and descending down, visitors are moving through 13 billion years of cosmic evolution.

Emotive Portraits of People Submerged Underwater

Looking through photographer Alban Grosdidier's series, aptly titled Drowning, I found myself holding my breath. The collection of portraits give us all a taste of claustrophobia induced by the all-encompassing element of water. There's an involuntary reaction to these images that forces the viewer to empathize with the submerged models.

At Christian Dior's Autumn/Winter 2012 Couture show, its new creator director, Belgian designer Raf Simons, made his grand debut even before one model walked down the runway.
