Talk about an eye-catching photo! Portal {Matthew Spiegelman in his studio with mirror, two way mirror, c-stands, clamp with suction cup, two geared tripod heads, three strobes, 4×5 camera, 180mm lens} [Variation 6] 2010 by Matthew Spiegelman makes some very clever use of mirrors…..Just goes to show that magical photos like this don't come easy! Spiegelman is part of the New York Photo Festival in Brooklyn which started yesterday will go on until May 20.

Intricate Portrait Stencils Form Lettered Messages

I absolutely love these stenciled artworks by Orticanoodles, the pieces are fantastic! Orticanoodles is a pseudonym for two Italian artists, Wally and Alita. The very active and close artist pair started with handmade posters, moved into street art, and quickly became part of major urban guerrilla campaigns. The team's most recent work, these Stencil on Stencil pieces, are a collection of portraits of famous leaders, TV personalities, celebrities, and artists, combined with intricate stencil techniques.

Living Grass Portraits by Ackroyd & Harvey

Surrey, England-based Heather Ackroyd and Dan Harvey take something we all take for granted, grass, and turn it into a fascinating medium for artistic expression. Their unique portraits are created by exposing plots of seedling grass to light through a custom-made negative, making the grass grow in different shades, from yellow to green. Basically, they harness the process of photosynthesis and capture chlorophyll to fix images to growing grass.
