China’s Red Double-Helix Bridge

Like a patriotic strand of DNA, the Nanhe River Landscape Bridge in Xinjin, China was designed by New York studio WXY Architecture and Weidlinger Associates Consulting Engineers. The team's winning design features two individual and intertwining bridges that form a braided pattern. The undulating curves of the bridge are meant to represent the flow of the river.

Giant Opera Stage in the Middle of a Lake

Floating above the water on Austria's Lake Constance is one of the most impressive opera sets ever designed. The Bregenz Festival has been creating these sets since 1946 for its trademark Opera on the Lake production, which has a 6,800 seating capacity. The magnificent set featured here is from Andr Chnier, the most famous work by the Italian composer Umberto Giordano.

Predator Motorcycle Built with Recycled Car Parts

A worker takes the motorcycle for a spin in Bangkok. Bangkok-based artist Roongrojna Sangwongprisarn collects discarded car and bicycle parts and uses them to create elaborate Predator-inspired motorcycles that are actually drivable. The 54-year-old owns four shops across Thailand and exports his works of art all over the world. You can see one of his other free-standing sculptures, below. Shockingly cool, don't you think? Artist Roongrojna Sangwongprisarn inflates the rear tire of the Predator motorcycle.
