Fine Art of an Icelandic Volcano Eruption (10 photos)

In 2010, Iceland experienced an epic volcanic eruption that captured the attention of people worldwide. Eyjafjallajkull spewed ash into the air as experts warned that the tiny particles of rock, glass and sand contained in the ash cloud was sufficient to jam aircraft engines. European air traffic was at a standstill for weeks. While most saw the natural disaster as a huge inconvenience, Swedish landscape and aerial photographer Hans Strand saw it as an opportunity.

Living Art @ Cosmopolitan Las Vegas (9 pics + video)

On my recent stay at the Cosmopolitan hotel in Las Vegas, I was taken aback by an incredibly cool experience in their lobby. Created by Digital Kitchen, the living art is made up of 8 columns, which have 12 individual screens on each side. Using a combination of photography, film, and 3D and 2D animation, Digital Kitchen presents several stories that are as beautiful as they are intriguing.

The Girl Who Loves to Levitate

Natsumi Hayashi is a sweet-looking Japanese girl who, one day, decided to take self-portraits..of herself levitating. She can be spotted in and around Tokyo, equipped with her SLR and her self-timer. When she feels the moment strike, she presses the shutter button down and then, quite literally, “jumps” into place. What I love most about her shots is that they don't feel forced.
