Simply Brilliant: Sigur Ros Performing at a Parisian Cafe

Sigur Ros – Vi spilum endalaust – A Take Away Show from La Blogotheque on Vimeo. I can't say that I'm a die hard Sigur Ros fan. Months ago I had a young, hip guy friend tell me about this Icelandic group and at that time I only listened to Sigur Ros just long enough to think that sounded like a prettier Bjork with a twist of Coldplay. After doing some research I found that they sing in a ” a constructed language of nonsense syllables which resembles the phonology of the Icelandic language” otherwise known as Vonlenska/Hopelandic/gibberish. What I completely dig, is that ultimately the meaning of the songs comes from somewhere inside you. In this video you see Sigur Ros in their most raw form…”A trip across Paris in a van. Lost drumsticks. A cafe you'd never expect to visit before the age of 60. An hour of waiting, and then, voil–a few notes on the harmonium, a grand piano, a heavenly voice. Sigur Ros on a Take Away Show.” Enjoy. Via
