Surreal Portraits of Elegant Women Inspired by Ballet

Fine art photographer Kylli Sparre, better known as Sparrek, uses photography as an outlet for creative expression. Her eye-catching shots depict stunningly surreal scenes that incorporate her background in ballet. Having trained for years as a ballet dancer, Sparrek found that it wasn't the right avenue for her, though it has clearly seeped into her current work, inspiring her passion for photography.

Typically working with the feminine form set against a variety of backdrops–from scenic landscapes to simple, black backgrounds–Sparrek's subjects exude a sort of melodic elegance in their body movements as though they are performing an interpretive dance, even in their stillness. The photographer captures the power of subtle gestures merged with a spectacular imagination.
