"Starfleet Grandma" Accidentally Cosplays Star Trek with Her Christmas Outfit

Festive holiday wear and cosplay might seem like an odd combination, but as one Redditor has shown us, the two make a fantastic pair. User LadyDrinksAlot recently posted a photo of a woman whose outfit is a spitting image of a Starfleet uniform from the Star Trek universe. While the color-blocked sweater matches the famed crew's attire, it's her golden Christmas tree brooch that really makes this ensemble look so similar–the shape and placement recalls a Starfleet combadge and communicator.

With the spot-on colors and brooch selection, we can't help but wonder: was this a planned outfit by a “Starfleet Grandma,” or just an odd coincidence?
