Strikingly Beautiful Framed Staircase (4 pics)

Designer Stuart Haygarth, in collaboration with framing company John Jones, created this strikingly beautiful staircase using 31 types of frames in various colors, sizes, and styles. In total, the frames' profiles reach over 650 yards (600 meters) in length and feature hundreds of individual pieces, cut, mitred, joined, sanded, and colored in special finishes – including gold leaf. The marble staircase is part of the V&A museum, one of the hubs for this year's London Design Festival.
