If you're going to be around Hollywood, California around now until December 1, check out the Anthro[physis] Exhibition at Rivera Gallery. All of the featured art is not only unique and pleasing to the eye, but they're also incredibly thought-provoking.
The exhibit's title, Anthro[physis], tells an interesting story that gives some insight into the works that are being showcased. Anthro is a prefix that means “human” and physis is a Greek term that is usually translated to English as “nature.” However, an early definition of physis was used to refer to the growth of living things as they tend to develop without external influence. Therefore, the art presents the relationship between man and his habitat. This is definitely something to keep in mind when you visit this exhibit.
Because of the diverse backgrounds of the artists, each art work has a very different meaning and interpretation of “Anthrophysis.” Expect to see works from Claire Morgan, Robert Standish, Jason deCaires Taylor, and Yuriko Yamaguchi among others.
